Trial licence — request and delivery

Five steps, and the licence never touches a public page.

The public site takes a request. Everything after that happens behind a verified account, because a signed entitlement document naming your organisation is not something to leave on a marketing page.

WALK THE FLOW
Step one · on the public site
Request a trial
Five fields, one of them optional. Nothing is downloadable from this page.
Your name
Who the organisation’s first administrator will be.
Work email
The single-use link goes here, so it has to be an address you can read today.
Company
Your organisation on the Console is named from this.
Product lines you want to try
ticked from the published catalogue
The list is the same one the licence gate enforces, so the form never offers a line nobody can issue.
Mobile number
optional — only used to reach you about this trial
Read the terms first
Before you submit
One automatic trial per organisation
A second request from the same address or the same company email domain is held for our team rather than started.
The clock starts at issue, not at install
Thirty days from when the licence is issued, which is when you open the link.
Nothing is downloaded
The trial runs in your own organisation on the EventLake Console, behind a sign-in you set up.
Every request gets the same answer here: check your email. A repeat is not mailed, and our team is in touch instead. The page does not say which happened, so it cannot be used to learn who already uses EventLake.
What stops this being abused

Including abuse by the person who legitimately received it, which is the case most schemes ignore. None of these depend on the recipient's goodwill.

One automatic trial per organisation
A repeat request, from the same address or the same company email domain, is held for our team rather than started.
The document names its holder
Signed, so it cannot be edited into somebody else's name, and use outside the named entity is visible and contractual.
A link that works once
The emailed link works once, for 24 hours, and carries no licence and no password.
A repeat gets the same answer
The page answers a first request and a repeat identically, so it cannot be used to learn whether a person or a company already uses EventLake.
The ceiling bounds the value
A shared licence does not multiply capacity — everyone using it draws on one daily volume, and it runs out faster.
Delivery is authenticated, the package is not
Friction sits on the thing that carries authority. The software, which carries none, stays open.
Deliberately not done
No machine fingerprinting — re-imaging and autoscaling break it, and support pays for that daily. No heartbeat or phone-home enforcement — on-premise exists for estates that cannot depend on our control plane, and a platform that stops defending when a network path fails is worse than the abuse it prevents. No hardware dongle, no per-seat activation, and no licence material anywhere on the public site.
